So yesterday I picked up an old D-33 Discman. I line-out this thing to a HeadRoom Portable Micro Amp using a DIY cable. Yeah, don't ask how I manage to bring such a huge, heavy, no-shock resistant thing outside.

Anyway. Aside from the usual "What the eff is he holding in his hands" look, I picked up lots of interference.

Example: Someone around me makes a call or texts on his cellphone, I hear this "zzz-zzz-zzz-zzz" sound in my IEMs. Also, when I walk pass one of those magnetic anti-theft detectors in those big stores, there is a sharp tone in my IEMs. Not exactly loud, but a lot.

I know that the whole thing is not shielded. CD player, the cables, the amp. They are not shielded.

So if I am able to place some Patrick82-grade ERS paper (or anything else, MU-metal shield) inside the devices, would it reduce the amount of interference that the whole package picks up?

Thank you.
