New Sony M10 High Rez DAP waiting at my front door!

Just deboxed it, and I'm stoked!  This is what a real audio player should look like instead of some wimpy hipster cellphone.  Instead of facebook ability, you get nice real  solid feeling play /pause / stop buttons, and slick VU record / play bar meters. Yeah! Great High Rez 24bit/ 96khz play back, and as a bonus you get a handheld 24bit recording studio thrown in. All this on sale for $199 shipped!  This is the DAP i've been waiting for!

Is this the PCM-M10 (recorder)? If so where did you get it for $200 and how's the SQ?

It's NOT a DAP, it's a portable professional audio recorder/player.

Well yeah, but I'm using it as a DAP. Thought that was assumed?

The thread title is misleading, as it's a recorder that your USING as a DAP. There is a difference, and others here have done the same before.

Regardless of extraneous functions how's the SQ compared to other portable players?

Well I listed the model number, and stated that it was in fact a recorder. I'm sure many have used it as a Dap, and never stated other wise. What are you trying to say? Did you have a bad day?

So far I like it better than my Ipod video 3G

Sorry, which model is the iPod video 3G? Is that an iPod touch 3G, an iPod Classic 2G? What is it?

I had one for about 20 days. Although it sounded very good, I can not say I enjoyed. It is hard to explain: it's like each sound is so full, full of pressure; or, imaging this, have you listened Classical music with DJ headphones? I can see some actually love it. It does not have EQ; operated like a cassette deck (not complicate, but take a short while getting used to it.) It also have line-out setting. A set of battery runs about 30 hours.

Lol, the music was too full bodied for you?  Now I'm curious.
