I've always loved this stuff.

I love black flag and all( and those songs are more doom), but it's boring as far as doom/sludge goes :P

dspang, you've got some extremely killer stuff.

Love me some of the more extreme forms of metal.

Here's some more:

The Abominable Iron Sloth - Parasite Hilton and other Flaws Inherent to Wealth..........Epic song title ftw.

Some funeral doom/sludge.  Ahab - The Hunt

I especially love this band because it's some of the more haunting stuff I've heard.  Not to mention for some odd reason

I'm a sucker for nautically themed metal.  Because seriously, think about it, the ocean is really metal.

Dystopia is hands down one of my most favourite band in the genre. I love that crushing, disgusting, gritty sound they produce cause honestly, that is what Sludge is all about. The greatest 'fuck off' music around.

His Hero Is Gone is another killer band. More Crust than anything though

Oh man.  I remember the first time I heard the beginning of Stress Builds Character quite a few years back.  I remember it being the most disturbing thing I had heard since anything Kiss it Goodbye had ever put out.

Pelican is by far my favorite but im also into almost all the bands mentioned already.

My favorite track...

These dudes kind of neatly straddle sludge and straight up post punk (this being one of their more post punk songs) ... but they certainly do kick ass.

(and they surf. Which is always good)

;-)

Absolutely man. Quite intense stuff and one of the darkest hardcore bands around.

Torche fans anyone?

Got Torche, Kylesa and High On Fire on the same bill this week; quite stoked.

The Body...last album was 2010's The Water of the Earth Will Turn to Blood.  This song is a little atypical from the rest of the album but gives you the idea - killer song really...some tunes are really sludgy, some more death-prog style but slow and HEAVY.  Two dudes but they use a 16 person choir - sucessfully even - to give a couple songs a majestic, scary movie build to the death rattle screams and sludgy stomp that's about to come.  cool stuff.

btw, 'raped' is a really lame descriptor for anything cool.

Sourvein - Bangleaf

Sourvein - Nightwing

Here is some Hooded Menace for some death/doom/sludge.  Excellent music for sunny days and rainbows.

Love the album art too.  Great reference to Tombs of the Blind Dead.
