Hello,

i've m-audio av40. About 15 min ago there is a power cut (about 1 sec) and then it came. Is that a problem? My laptop plays music when power cut happening. I was sitting at my housemate's computer. And computer didn't reboot. It runs normally. Only light bulbs turned off for a moment.

Also i've listened something and nothing seems changed. Superb.

I don't think even monitors closed but i'm not sure.

thanks.

If the speaker still works without issue then there is no problem

Since they're active speakers and so are connected directly into the mains you should probably make sure they're plugged into a surge protected power strip in case your house gets struck by lightning or something, but mostly they should be fine.

I don't know have i got a surge protected power strip. I don't think i understand exactly. I have standard cables and power sockets. But they are grounded. But In monitor there is a fuse. If voltage gets higher i don't think there'll be a problem.

Basically it's just a regular power strip that'll cost a little bit (a few Euros, maybe) more than a normal extension lead. They work just the same, only difference is that there's usually a little red light and it'll say 'surge protected' on it. Honestly it's not really that important, but it might stop the fuse blowing in your monitors if they ARE struck by lightning.

Something like this: http://www.lindy.co.uk/power-strip-uk-mains-4-way-surge-protector-white-2m/73076.html

They probably sell them in your local DIY store, just a bit of extra peace of mind for expensive electronics.
