Kimber Kable Interconnects

Hi,

Does anyone know if PBJ's cables are Directional?  How do you figure out the Direction?

Thanks, hockey_coach

Spoiler: If they ARE directional, they'll sound the same both ways.

If they are, then in the direction of the lettering on them. I do have the Kimber Silver Streaks and they say "Silver Streak" on them. So your source should be closest to the "S" and your amp toward the "k" in streak. Except substitute PBJ for Silver Streak.

this is what Zu says:

Are audio cables directional

Yes, there does seem to be a direction; all conductors we have messed with, from metals, to rocks exhibit directionality and signal fidelity changes. It means that nearly all cables will sound better in one direction than another. Some cables’ direction can be reversed, some can’t. Some are the result of design and implementation, others are the net result of play.

umm don't interconnects transmit alternating current anyway...

read: if there is directionality, you are going to encounter it no matter which way you orient the cable, just with slightly different effects on the signal.

AFAIK, the PBJ is symetrical, meaning connections are the same on both sides (red as +, the other two on the jacket). This in contrast to interconnects that have the shield connected only on one side.
