Genius Sp-S110 2.0 Stereo speakers amp

Hi everyone!

First post here, total noob, not sure if this is the right place to post... I've been using my xbox360 with a VGA cable to connect it to my LCD PC monitor. That cable has RCA audio output and I use female RCA to male 3.5mm adapter, with a female to female 3.5mm coupler to connect my Sennheiser PC headset (which is pretty good and serves my purpose) but sometimes, I want a more powerful audio output. I tested some cheap Genius Sp-S110 2.0 Stereo speakers (which sound kinda crappy) but I believe they have an amp built-in because they boosted the sound A LOT when I connected my headset. So my question is, since I can't make a CMOY myself (don't now how to solder, etc.) can I rip apart those speakers just to obtain the amp? I mean, cutting off the speaker itself from the board, the cable that attaches to the left speaker and only keep the board with the amp and the power source and put it in any box I can find to make some sort of CMOY looking headphone amp? Will really appreciate if you enlighten me. Thanks in advance!

Wow... this must be either too complicated or too boring... really wish someone at least tell me wether I'm completely lost with this idea or if it's remotely possible, that's all I want to know. Sorry if I'm not the supreme head-fi'er like many here. I just had an idea and wanted some advice from people who know a lot about this. Just to get me started you know? Thanks anyway if read my post at least.

Sure, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

The amp it uses is probably not the best

quality or best sounding but it should

at least work.

After you get the speaker apart post some

pictures so we can see the guts and maybe

help you with it.
