$700 SS amp,

 

- Rudistor NX-03

- Meier Concerto

- Burson HA-160

- PS audio GCHA

 

I am aware Meier has gain setting and probably has an edge for efficient phones.

 

Which one you like most?

 

Are there other contenders amongst the best ?

You could find a used ALO Amphora.  To get the best deal, (and what I would do) watch the for sale forums like a hawk and you'll pick up something supper nice for around $700.00.

Headamp GS-1 is pretty awesome.

 

Your existing system (source, transport, DAC and headphones) would be nice to know as well.

Burson also has a high and low input

Yes indeed, but there were some grumbling on the big volume gap of the stepped attenuator. I guess the issue may be more potent with efficient phones. That gives the Concerto a slight edge in my case.
