I have an Interveiw for med school soon and I want to dress to impress, however I have gotten a little fat since the last time I put on my suits. I will need to buy a new one my buget is about $1000. However I am also worried if I dress to well I will give off a negitive impression of being arrogant or whatever they may think. I have looked at forums like sdn and most people just state dress professionally (like a doctor would). However this does not give any help on determining how modest my attire should be. If anyone has any recommendation on any good suits/ styles and where to buy them in NYC area let me know. Also if anyone has any insight into how I should present myself attire wise please let me know. thanks.

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

the trick is to dress so that you would blend into an office environment. do not look raggedy, but do not strive for the height of fashion either. for the suit, dark blue or dark grey is preferable, black is acceptable. as for shoes, just make sure they are polished and not scuffed.
there's really not much to it

Go for charcoal or navy, no stripes, and the plainest cut you can find. Plain black oxfords and a black belt will work with either suit. White shirt, conservative tie in a solid, stripe or small pattern.
Fit in but don't stick out.
Go mail order. I buy Lands End suits - about $250 - and they look great ... very middle of the road, normal, and unostentatious. You can mix and match sizes between the pants and the coat to avoid tailoring.
Tip: don't buy new shoes if you don't have to. Nothing screams "trying too hard" than new shoes. Nothing says "serious" better than old shoes, perfectly cleaned and shined. Same with shirts - a well laundered, well ironed old shirt - and a slightly used tie - says "I've been in your world forever."

Go used. You can usually find good quality used suits for a fraction of retail. Have it tailored nicely, cleaned and no one will ever know.

I'm a bit curious about the black shoes. Even with a navy suit? I always thought you were supposed to wear brown with navy? Is it different for job interviews?
