Audio-GD NFB-11 - Page 23

Gonna place a pre-order for the NFB-12. I was debating getting the NFB-11, but the price of the NFB-12 is just too good to pass up.

This new NFB-12 would be a better match for the HD-650s than the NFB-11, no?

Depends on what kind of sound you are looking for. The NFB-12 should be more warm, relaxed and forgiving of bad recordings. The NFB-11 is very honest, super neutral and high fidelity. The HD 650 is regarded as a laid back relaxed headphone with soft treble, so I don´t think there is a right answer.

Because of the Sabre32 chip, the NFB-11 is less transport-reliant, while with the NFB-12 a good transport like Digital Interface will improve sound a lot.

That's a very tempting price for the 12 and I have no need for it at all, but trying to find one!

Man, that's a lot of speculation based on untested theories on products that are not available yet...

I'm thinking it could replace my Beresford for gaming and PC movies tongue.gif

I  just pre-ordered the NFB-12 also, now just have to wait unti mid-Dec. for the planned ship date.

I had been on the fence about ordering the NFB-3 because of the large size and lack of headphone jack (this if for an office system) so the NFB-12 looks perfect.  I wanted the more analog sounding top end of the dual Wolfsons for my sometimes overly revealing speakers.

I'll compare it to my Valab NOS also.

DAC+Amp with dual WM8741 for $200? Wow~~

I applaud Kingwa's efforts but boy is he in need of an interpreter for his website.

Considering Kingwa's relationship with this forum and Audio-GD's standing here, I'm surprised a multilingual member hasn't offered his/her services.

Honest offers have been made and Scams attempted....

That's a shame, although I can't fathom how a scam may be committed.

On paper, would the NFB-12 be better than the Fun? How would the dual WM8471, no opamp in the signal path, lesser power supply (?) of the NFB-12 differentiate it's SQ from the FUN?

Wow, great deal and amazing specs on the NFB-12s. In for one. Tim, you're welcome to test out mine if/when I'm in Chicago area again beerchug.gif.

I was going to go with the Fun, but the price of the NFB-12 is right and I didn't need the extra features of the Fun. Similar components, although you lose the ability to alter the sound with OPAs. I am sure resale would be good though.

Just sent my money...now wait 4 weeks. Ugh....
