fiiO E7 , HD 555 and asus laptop, help, what do I do?

Newbie here, please, I need your help, somebody.  Just got HD 555, then ordered E7 ( got it yesterday)after reading all the great reviews from this site. My problem is when I connect the usb cord from the Fiio E7 to my laptop ( ASUS N71JQ ) I hear this hiss noise with no audio sound.   I restarted itune thinking it will help, still same problem. It is also doing the same when I connected my monster turbine. What am I missing ? No problem using the LOD with my ipod though.

Thank you in advance for your help. I am clueless in what to do

Hissing can be from the amp itself or the laptop. Do you hear the same hiss when it is connected to another PC? What is the volume setting on your E7? If you only hear it when it is connected to your laptop, there is a good chance that the hiss is part of the laptop electronic back ground noise.

Yes, I hear the hiss too when I connected the E7 to my hp. The volume ranges from 2 to 25, the hiss noise just got louder as I increased the volume. How do I fix this? I do not hear any music from the headphones, just annoying hissing noise.

You might have a lemon there. I will suggest you exchange it for a new one.

I'm really interested in what you think about the e7 and the hd555 when you get a working fiio.  I'm thinking of getting one for my 555s and I also have an ASUS (UL80VT)

I get no hiss even at max volume on my E7 hooked up to my netbook or otherwise, so I'm sure you have a lemon. If the next E7 does it, the problem MAY be in your USB cable or maybe sources, I'm guessing.

Hey,

I see you sent us an email and opened a ticket on 10/11. I sent you the instructions on how to return the E7 to us on the 10/12. I also posted in this thread on that day indicating that we sent you instructions. I guess you didn't get it?  I've resent the instructions just now.

Let me know if you are having issues receiving our email. Check your spam folder. smily_headphones1.gif
