Miles Davis' Kind of Blue is totally amazing

Walked into a shop today, saw this on sale. Been wanting to get the huge collector's box, but there was the price issue.

So this CD is a Columbia CD, with a text on the back saying 'remastered on an all-tube machine' and the like.

Popped the CD into the configuration in my signature, and wow. Totally wow.

I've never really listened to jazz before. I did enjoy a little Blues from time to time, but the Kind of Blue is just amazing. Both the sound and the music. I can't really comment on any performances or anything, however this piece has this... energy that resembles Bernstein on vinyl, something that I've been looking for in a long time.

Just wanted to share what I feel.

Yup. "Kind of Blue" has a way of doing that to people who were never much into jazz. The other jazz album with enormous crossover appeal is "Time Out" by Dave Brubeck. Pick that up and you'll start working your way into being a jazz fan. smily_headphones1.gif

Before this year, I was never really into jazz and never really ever thought I would like it or give it a chance.  Then I also listened to Kind of Blue as well as Take Five by Dave Brubeck.  Those two albums changed my  perceptions totally around.  I'm not a jazz fanatic but I love to listen to some John Coltrane or Miles when I'm in the mood

I've listened to Dave Brubeck before I like his style, but I think I'm going to give your Kind of Blue album a spin tonight, I haven't listened to jazz in a while, plus I'm curious to see how they sound through my cans.
