New Stax! SR-307, SR-407, SRM-323S, SRM-006TS

I just was browsing an electronics store here in Japan and found some more new Stax models.

The 407 and 307 have the same drivers as the 507 but with pleather pads. The new amps are still using the 6CG7/6FQ7. http://joshinweb.jp/audio/5348/4996476000582.html http://joshinweb.jp/audio/5348/4996476000599.html http://joshinweb.jp/audio/5348/4996476000629.html http://joshinweb.jp/audio/5348/4996476000636.html

Those pictures of the SR-307 and SR-407 have a very familiar look about them, I wonder how different they sound.

Since Stax have revamped all their lambdas I wonder if they're finally going to release their replacement for the SR-003, or perhaps an upgraded SR-007.

The SRS-005S is just a 003 with the newer amp that goes with the 207

Spritzer, I'm not sure whether to call you the "Wizard of Stax" or the "Stax Witch Doctor".    Your knowledge and operating procedures of maximizing or bringing back dead Stax gear is amazing.  I can't wait to see your pics of the 507s drivers after your "dissection" and analysis of it.

Looking forward to see if they addressed all of the issues with Lambda drivers, like the glue and coupling to the frame.

Now they only need to bring out the SRM-727S and fix it smily_headphones1.gif

spritzer, that's great...wondering...where did you purchase these from?

Anyone know the best stax US retailer for the 207, 307, 407??  Or are all US retailers the LAST to get 'em?

There is a warner brothers cartoon, its one of the censored eleven in the eyes of ted turner. The current owner.

If you find a copy of this cartoon on the web, then you will know the answer to this question.

The name of the cartoon is "The Isle of Pingo Pongo"  copyright 1938

My best guess is that the next version of the 727 will have switches for the feedback.

Due to the 2sa1968's being discontinued at the end of the year, virtually all of the stax solid state product

line will need some changes. My guess is that things will be going to stacked current sources.  biggrin.gif

Today the cartoon can be easily accessed on YouTube.
