lol, had this lp album way back when but I've never looked at it that closely. Guess I was just too preoccupied listening to easy livin while travelling in time.

I remember browsing through the CDs at FYE one day when I first saw this, I couldn't believe it. I happen to like this kind of thing, but I was just very surprised. I'd seen Butchered at Birth, but this just seemed like it crossed the line.

 

I know there are much worse album covers that are on obscure labels that big distributors don't carry, but I'm talking about an album you can walk in and buy at something like Best Buy.

I find it rather amusing that a guy is railing against a drawing on an album cover from twenty years whilst sporting an avatar of a topless chick squeezing a pair of headphones against her tits.

Hmm, if I scout around, I might find more

in the US you can print anything you want on your coverart

where the problems can come in are

1. the label doesn't like it and refuses to release the album

2. the stores won't stock it (you can use a slipcover or insert that covers the offensive art)

last example of #2 i personally experienced was Slayer's God Hates Us All... the cover with the mutilated bible offends oversensitive religious nuts so they added an insert over the cover art so places like circuit city (where i bought the album) would carry it

so the US doesn't have any policy it's the labels and the stores... if it was some federal regulation those small labels that distribute a large quantity of albums with explicit sex acts on the cover art would not be allowed to do so

It is a bootleg AFAIK. And yes, that is quite offensive album cover, having authentic leaked picture of Mayhem's old vocalist after he commited suicide, brains splattered all over the place. But then again, after reading quite a bit about "Dead" I presume he would have enjoyed the thought of him being on album cover dead... But I still think its incredibly disrespectful for him.
