Buy HD800+Amp+Dac.......or pay off student loans.....hmmmmm

So I have like $12k in loans and credit card debt. I graduated and just found an entry level govt engineering job going from $45k with raises to $75k in 2.5 years.

I mean.....If I don't get HD800's now, I'll just do it anyway in half a year after I pay that crap off.

SO I SHOULD GET THEM NOW AND GO A BIT DEEPER IN DEBT AMIRITE? THAT'S THE AMERICAN WAY. I WANT TO EXPERIENCE 'SOUNDSTAGE' AND STUFF.

My wallet hates head-fi.

Congratulations on finding a job! That is no small feat and I can only vaguely express my immense jealousy!

Just in case your question is a serious one: Pay the 12K off. It's not that much money and, personally speaking, I would hate to have any debt always looming ahead.

I'm in Oklahoma too! Graduated OU in Aerospace Engineering and am going to be working at Tinker as a civilian engineer.

Live with what you have right now and pay off your debts first.  You're a fresh grad and finally making money but you should try to get the monkey of a student loan off your back so you can spend money on headphones and gear without having to think about it.

I'm waiting for someone to say "Do it you pansy, you only live once, enjoy it while you're young" etc....

Yep. Pay off your debts then enjoy the goodness.

In that case, I advise you to buy, buy, buy! Then we can arrange a big OKC head-fi meet!

I also graduated from OU last spring, but only with a paltry degree in history. Anyway, congratulations on finding the job (and quite a well-paying job for Oklahoma)!

I wonder if anybody else around here is on head-fi.....

Lucky you guys. There's hardly any audiophiles in Quebec City (and I can't bring gear to Montreal).

Oh well what can you do right.

I just can't wait to get back and buy some audiophile equipment with some of this money.. smily_headphones1.gif

Do you guys really board up the windows so shattered glass shards won't enter the room (thank you, Hurt Locker)?

Wish you enjoy the musical goodness after all this.

We have lots of barriers around buildings and what not. I haven't seen any boarded up windows here.

I can't wait to get back and pick up m50s, xb700, d2000, and an amp. mmmm smily_headphones1.gif

I did bring an old cracked pair of HD555s with me so I can enjoy some tunes.
