yes, technically you could. IMO not worth it at all, the case add protection from stray static among other things...  not a good idea, plus your taking advantage of nuforce in a way.

just got it in the mail today.    initial impressions are good as expected, yes better detail and channel imbalance is fixed!   very happy for that. blue light is now a soft white. When i was swapping out circuit boards, the re-assembly didnt go super smooth. The udac 2 board doesnt fit perfectly... no bigs tho, it all still goes back together. very happy, if your on the fence just order the upgrade, imo very worthwhile for 65$.

cheers, M

yeah, you should totally abuse their upgrade policy till they stop offering it.

cool, you wont be dissapointed, i definitely am glad i went to the upgrade!

be weary when putting the #2 in the original case, it is sort of a pain to get it to fit right... but it will.

Does the upgrade kit make use of ANY of the uDAC components besides the casing?

no, but please dont use this info to buy a udac2 without previously owning a udac1. that is morally wrong!!!
