Can you detach cable from UE-11?

My earphone's cable became loose on the left side and I have to twist the cable to a specific position to hear any sound on the left mold. It "looks" like the cable can be replaced but I can't pull it out with reasonable force. My question is: Are the cables designed to be detached from the mold easily? I want to pull out the cube plastic block with the letter L and replace the cable.

UE11 cables are detachable. it's just a very tight fit since the socket is recessed.

Do you need any special tools? Are there any aftermarket cables for UE11?

 

To detach the cable do we pull the cube connector with letter L/R or do we pull the cable?

You can use a westone ES cable instead of the UE or you can buy a replacement cable from UE.  No tools necessary just grab by the L or R and pull it out.

if anything the new UE custom series are the ones with the strange cables that I would think would be harder to replace.
