How Do I Make the HD 600 Cable Fit HD 25 Groove w/ Proper Dimensions??? - Page 2

I totally understand why you would be losing patience with me. I just don't want to destroy my $32.00 investment because generally I am a pretty frugle guy =P I've been considering that actually, but reassurance is always nice because I have a tendency of doing things on my own initiative and creating problems.

Was the last part of the comment really necessary though? I appreciate it when web-based communities have that "I'm happy to help, what can I do for you?" mentality. Even when your putting up with somebody that's new to the swing of things pertaining to upgrading cans. I am humbling myself to those that know what they're doing, not trying to get disrespected whilst wasting your your time... I am only seeking for a firm answer on a couple questions.

One last thing before I peace outa here and quit bothering ya'll... electrical tape or some sort of tubing to reseal the split wire?

Thank you for all your help everybody. Real talk

It is not my intention to scare you away.

I just had a feeling that we were holding your hand a bit too much, and that you probably would find most of your answers of you just took a closer look.

I have no problem with helping people, but I prefer it to be by helping them help themselves. Overly pedagogic maybe, but it makes things easier for all parts in the long run.

Electrical tape would work, but heatshrink will look nicer. Can be found in most well assorted hardware stores.

Took me like 10 minutes to do it all (couldn't have been easier). I went with the electrical tape, because honestly when attaching the split cable to the right cup it's barely visible... Just for those in the future looking to do the same, I have provided a step-by-step much like the one I was looking for when typing the original post.

*Materials: HD 600 cable, electrical tape, mustache trimmers (small scissors), small screwdriver

1. It's totally worth it, sound quality has a significant improvement

2. Unscrew original cable and remove it

3. Align HD 600 wire beside the old wire on a flat surface (to compare length and measure)

4. Cut the heatshrink surrounding the split

5. Slowly split the wires more and more UNTIL THEY BOTH MATCH the length of the old LONG SIDE split cable

6. Run "red" wire back through the headset via groove (red = right cup = side with screws; black = left)

7. Coil "black" split cable over right cup (like the image on this thread)

8. Reapply screws
