Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to review the E9!

Thats good news.

Does that means that those of us who paid the 50 dollars can possibly have the amplifier by the end of October?????

Yes, but since we have few engineer sample and it is not a good iead to sell hand work sample to you! so we will just ship mass production to you

The E9 will assembled this week, hope everything just ok ! so we can test in next week and ship out it smily_headphones1.gif

Just got the sample in today! It's sitting next to me in my office as I type this....and it's taking all of my strength to not open the package. That's something I like to leave for the viewers to watch, first hand.

I'll begin the unboxing and review this week for everyone to see. Will post again soon! smily_headphones1.gif

The E9 part 1 review is now up guys. Sorry for the long  delay...I had to shoot this a second time due to decoding issues (bad sdhc card!) from the video samples.

Nice unboxing review, but most importantly what does it sound like???, also is that a 3.5mm pre-out on the back for active speakers???.

I mostly need to know how well it drives the DT990/600, and whether it is transparent/relatively neutral or if it colors the sound. I hope it's transparent, because I want my headphones to sound like they're supposed to sound, not colored by tubes or whatnot.

Thanks! Not to spoil the listening review I'm working on, I can tell you that the amp alone is more neutral than it is colored. Resolution is good, but not great. Soundstage is wider than I expected.  Also, it has a surprisingly good tonal balance. When the e7 is docked though, there is more coloration and richness present and I noticed a tad bit of sibilance to some instruments and vocals. This is all without any burn in, mind you. After some real 'sit-down' time with the amp after proper burn in, I can give a more realistic review of it. But, so far, I can tell you that the e9 should have another cult following going for it, considering the sound quality to price point aspect. I'm excited to give it a few rounds with my different cans and sources.

I'll post a full listening review soon! smily_headphones1.gif

Indeed, the amp alone is more transparent than it is colored. I initially used my DT990's on it, and I heard no bloating or excessive coloration to the sound signature of the cans. The amp did sound slightly closed from my initial listening though, but I am hoping this will change. After proper burn-in, I'll begin working on part 2 of the video review smily_headphones1.gif
