Hmm, do you have any books to recommend on this topic? My national exams are going to be over soon and i would have some free time. I would be interested in learning more about such things. Articles on the net would be appreciated also. Thanks.

I don't know any books off the top of my head, but I can scrounge up a good website or two.  There's a lot of good stuff here.  Start at the articles under "Beginners' Luck" and then read whatever you find interesting.

Thanks, that site looks quite good. How about recommendations on books/sites about the software side - audio codecs, DSP, etc. I have several years of experience in programming, and the software side really interest me.
