I'm looking to buy a headset with a boom mic--generally used for broadcasting (radio or TV) like these:

 

Shure SM2 or

Sennheiser HMD-280 series or

Audio-Technica-BPHS1, or

AKG HSD171 or

Beyerdynamic models like DT290, DT109, DT297, DT190.

 

I'm NOT looking for a gaming headset but I know many people have purchased these thinking they would be great for gaming when in fact, they are poor choices for that use because of their often limited frequency response. So if you have a pair laying around collecting dust, let me know.
