Black Swans & Wormhole Wizards

I got my hands on the new Satch album today . Initial impressions are that this is a good return to form after the disappointing Musterion; Joe's back to an experimental style again and this album reminds me mostly of Strange Beautiful Music crossed with Is There Love in Space.

Standout tracks for me are: Premonition, Pyrrhic Victoria, The Golden Room and Two Sides. Sound quality is good for an album in this genre where hot mastering is the norm - bass is over-emphasised but clipping is under control and the overall sound is nice and punchy. Soundstaging ranges between average (Two Sides) and very good (such as on Golden Room).

What does everyone else make of the album?

He's got some great people on this one also - Mike Keneally is a monster, and for those of you not familiar with the Mermen, Alan Whitman (Bass) is awesome
