Question about Cowon sound quality

I am looking for a Cowon with great sq. I really like the look, minimal function, and small capacity of the iaudio E2. Price is not an issue but sound quality is.

Does the iaudio 9 have much better sq than the E2? Are there other Cowons with better sq than the iaudio 9?

I am using Soundmagic PL50 headphones with no amp.

The E2 sounds very good but it just has a subset of Cowon's BBE effects. The i9 is much more configurable.

 

I had both and didn't like the UI of the i9, preferring the simplicity of the E2, the i9 is a solid player, though, sounding the same as other Cowons.
