I'm wondering if anyone has encountered the same issue :

I'm using a diy usb dac (based on the pcm2702, like many) and there is a constant high frequency hiss when no sound is playing. If I play a song in winamp (or watch a dvd or play a game), the hiss stops. If I pause winamp, the hiss is not present at first then comes back after 30 sec. If I play a file with the volume at 0%, no hiss. The hiss volume is however always the same, regardless of the master volume settings. It is also "hissing" when not connected to the computer.

It's under windows vista btw.
