Before anyone thinks this is some kind of attempt of price gouging, let me describe how and why did I come into possession of them and why I'm selling:
- About two months ago I had bought a pair of used HE60s on Agon, which was described as in good working condition except for the peeling ear pads (common issue with these cans).
- I have searched the Internet after a new replacement pair of ear pads and the one and only pair I was able to find was thru Amazon.UK, a parts reseller, who had only this pair remaining in inventory. Because Amazon.UK doesn't ship directly to the US, I had to have them shipped to a friend of mine who lives in the UK and reshipped them here to the US.
- When I received the HE60s, based on my initial testing I have discovered that the transducers may have started to develop a channel imbalance so I decided to send it back to the seller and received a refund.
- The pictured HE60 replacement ear pads have arrived and I decided to keep them as a spare, in case I find another pair of HE60 later.
- As luck would have it, I did find one last week, but this one was totally refurbished by Sennheiser last year AND comes with another sealed factory spare set of ear pads. I do not need two set of spares, so I've decided to try to sell them, if I can do so without a loss.
My cost: Approx. GBP75 ($121) for the pads and shipping to the UK address + $25 to ship from the UK to mine via UK Priority Airmail (or whatever their premium registered service is called) that comes to a total of $146.
So, I'm ready to ship this within CONUS for a total of $150 firm paid via PP Gift option to recover my expenses via USPS Priority Mail with Tracking Info. OCONUS shipping to most countries is possible, but PM me for a quote and I reserve the right to sell only to interested parties with a minimum established track record on Head-Fi and/or Ebay.
If I can't sell this for the amount I paid, I will keep it. My understanding is that Sennheiser Germany still stocks these for in-house repair only, meaning you need to send you HE60s for service and they replace all worn parts, etc. Obviously, the cost of doing that including the shipping both ways exceeds this, so if you own a pair of HE60s and want to buy a spare set of pads, this seems like a good opportunity even at this inflated price. Thanks for looking and sorry about the lengthy explanation but I wanted everyone to have the full picture before jumping to the wrong conclusions.
