Headphone Amp for Ultrasone Pro 650

Hey all,

Although this is my first post, I've been hovering these forums for a while. I recently bought a pair of Ultrasone Pro650's and a uDac 2. I listen to music through my MacBook, and the sound has left me wanting. I know that these headphones are capable of better sound with more bass. When I listen to music using my portable Sennheiser CX400's the bass is great, but with the Ultrasone's it is very lacking. Can you guys recommend a good headphone amp for under 200 for these headphones? I believe they are 40 Ohms.

Thanks!

Hi bassaddicted,

Well, I don't own a Mac, but own a uDac (first one).  The headamp of the uDac drives the PRO650s decently.  The PRO650s have less bass than the PRO550s, however its bass presence is there.

Again, I don't own a Mac and don't know any of their media players except iTunes. But just to confirm before you go spending money.  Is the output set correctly for the uDac?  If you are using iTunes, have you changed your settings in Quick Time?

Sorry for the basic questions but sometimes we can overlook something.
