Those of you who own the LCD-2, did you need to stretch your headband to get a comfortable fit, if so, did stretching it resolve this?

I've been talking headphones with you for years. Now I can help you with your purchase:) Sales Specialist & Headphone Guru @ Headphones.com

I never had a problem with the LCD2 in terms of clamping pressure fatigue.  The HD650 aggravated me after a few hours.

The clamping force never seemed the problem, but the leather is taking a while to get soft. Ouch!

Interestingly, I found my head maybe lop-sided as I needed to adjust the right side one notch longer to get a real comfortable fit...

The tight clamping force seemed to affect earlier models with later models having reduced clamping pressure and I find the leather to be nice and soft on my pair.

I've got a later model with the A-pattern grills and the new foam. Stretched it flat - and even more, despite fearing it would break any second with parts flying all over the place. It didn't help. Clamping force is still too high to be comfortable for my admittedly large head.

As with many things even this has an advantage: The massive weight of the LCD2 is better distributed and doesn't only rest on the top of my head - as with the T1 which has too little clamping force and a poorly padded headband that hurts within 30 minutes.

I did not have to stretch the headband of my pair

Permagrin,

I'm past the 30-day mark waiting for my turn at getting a pair of LCD-2s from a pre-order placed in November, but I have only today learned just how large they are, when I came across your profile photo just now.

I had no idea they were that large.  Thanks for posting a photo of them "mounted" like this.

No fit issues whatsoever over here. The pads provide just the right amount of clamp without overdoing it for me. I got mine about 3 weeks ago for reference.

I have one of the early sets and I find the clamping pressure to be a bit much. Stretching by hand doesn't seem to make a long term difference. Great phones, but not the most comfortable for my average sized head.

I didn't think they looked that big in person Oo

Also, I didn't find the clamping force an issue at all.

Going by your profile picture, they wouldn't look very big on your head, MrGreen!   biggrin.gif

At first they felt a bit clampy, but after a couple of days they fitted like a glove.. The only issue I have is that my ears get sweaty after a while, but it's not a big deal at all. I guess it depends on how big your noggin is :D

No clamp force at all here. I would like some more actually so they sit a bit more secure. But it´s okay since it´s no headbang headphones.

To me, I forget there on my head. Amazingly comfortable if you ask me.

I have one of the earlier pairs, and have swapped the grills but the headband is the old style one.  I put it on a wigform head, but I really didn't notice much of a change.  While they do clamp pretty good, I never have minded it that much and always thought the clamp might help the seal.
