Looking for a DAC/AMP for Pro 900s under $350

Thread Starter

I just placed an order of my Ultrasone Pro 900s and I want to invest in a decent DAC/AMP combo.  I currently run out of a 27" iMac and have always noticed some hissing and such from just the headphone port.  Since I have the funds at the moment I want to upgrade.

I've done some searching for amps and such being paired with these cans and I have not found a concise answer on if there is a certain combo unit that would compliment them the best.  So what do you guys think? Any suggestions would be great!

Nice cans those Pro 900s

The Audio-gd FUN is a solid contender for computer audio, since you can connect it via USB. It's versatile, built like a tank and have a good reputation around here.

I think it is pretty safe to state that it can't be beat for the money. Especially when you consider the versatility.

The "A" version is 345 US$, which is over your budget, considering the 50$ shipping cost.

The "B" version is not bad at 205 US$, you still get the same awesome design, but with components of lesser value.

If you choose the least expensive option, you should compliment it with proper power too (I know, that's not the question here...)

I have the previous generation "Compass" version of the FUN and it's by far the best bang for the buck piece of equipment I own. I would recomend AUdio-gd anytime.
