u know i (or anyone...reasonable) cant really argue wit that. & i would love to. only problem with that theory is the price of entry which is...$5k! dont know bout anyone else but to buy, try & then resell mite entail a loss of multi$$$ks which for me isnt exactly chump change. even discounting the current economic climate, the fact that we live in this digi-info age dictates we do our 'homework' on an expensive item (or any item accessed via google for that matter). its not just a wise & prudent thing to do - its the only thing to do. IMO ofcos.

 

fact that forums like this exists give us venues for queries, discussions & yes....even debates as long as its civil & reasonable. if its that difficult to explain the virtues of your fav gear that one needs to slapdown queries, then perhaps the proper question is why post it here at all? 

 

please note that im not a naysayer nor have i made any unreasonable assumptions. if not wanting be sheep is an offense, then i guess im guilty of being offensive.

ehm...one of the best solid state..seriously...rudistor ? the beta would  stomp this amp really hard..its hardly even a competition..

 

 Have you owned/used a PRO10B?

Yes, this hobby can get expensive easily. That is why going to meets and CanJam is a good option. I bought the RP010B after listening and owning the RPX33 and making sure it followed the same sound siganture. The Woo I bought it after listening to it at last June's Canjam in Chicago using my own headphones. I agree it won't be wise to make that kind of investment blindly.

 Sorry, I can not repond to you becuase I have no point of comparison since I have never listen to a Beta. Among the ones I have listen to both the RPX33 and the RP010B are amopng the best sounding ones based on my taste of sound and opinion. If I ever have the chance to liste to a balanced Beta I might change my mind but until then I can not really compare and make an opinion.

 

Yeap, the Pass run really hot. I had the 5 and have the 3. Both run a lot hotter then my Threshold T50 and the 2 T400 which are also class A. You can hardly put your hand on the Pass while in the Thresholds there is no problem doing that.

if you touch the cover its pretty hot after maybe 2 hours runtime but i think the heat isnt that hot  till it can affecting my room temperature..i tried a couple times when im bored if i put a drop of water on its cover it will dried up in 15-20 minutes..mine is 4 board 2 sigma configuration seperate aluminum chasis for the beta and the psu..

Yes, the T1 with the Zeus are really nice. They sound excellent out of the RP010B in balanced but actually think they are even better out of my WE5-LE even single ended.

For some reason the RP010B as well as the RPX-33 really match well with Ultrasone headphones. My Edition 9 sound the best out of the Rudis.
