For ASUS owners

How many people here own ASUS products?

I recently purchased the ASUS N61JV-X2 laptop for NJIT. I am especially interested in the new ASUS Eee PC 1215n.

How do you rate your computer? Have you had any problems with the hardware or software? Have you had to use the warranty and how did that process go for you? On a scale of 1 to 10 (being perfect), how would you rank yours? Any other thoughts?

I have an Asus One, Welly. The only complaint I have is the way it closes with such authority. It's like an assisted-opening knife but in reverse. I do a lot of computing with it on my belly while sitting half upright in bed. Several times, while about to doze, I've shut it, and my man boob was slammed between the screen and the keyboard. Ouch!

Also, the HD failed, but was replaced under warranty with no problem. Took a few weeks, though. So there's that.

I have had no problems with my ASUS N61JV-X2 notebook PC while running Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate x64 bit Edition.

I am considering the purchase of the ASUS NX90JQ.

Basically, I am looking at a more powerful notebook PC that combines multimedia capabilities with desktop replacement features set.

Does anyone here own this exact ASUS NX90JQ? If so, then please reply with your user experience and opinions.

So, it's either Grado PS-1000 (which I have never heard before), Grado RA-1 (which I have never heard either), and Grado Mahogany box or an ASUS NX90JQ. If I buy the hi-fi components, then I will be charged New Jersey sales tax whether I pay in cash or via my Sovereign Bank VISA debit card by making my purchase from the Audio Connection in Verona, NJ. However, I will not be charged sales tax or shipping fees if I buy the ASUS NX90JQ from J&R. I have done business with J&R by purchasing my Audio Technica ATH-W5000 "Raffinato" headphones. They are reliable and trustworthy. I have also done business with Audio Connection and they are a little spotty in terms of customer service and closing on a sale because the staff is disorganized and they do not communicate with one another on a frequent basis regarding sales orders. I used to work for the owner John Rutan. He is a nice guy, but he runs his shop without any clear focus.

I can afford either one, but I can not afford both by the end of this year. Obviously, I am looking at two entirely different products. I want to get myself a very nice gift as a reward for completing my first semester at New Jersey Institute of Technology.
