USB -> I2S for BuffaloII

post #1 of 5
Thread Starter

I have to move from Mac to PC for work and so will lose the optical out that is currently feeding my Buffalo II via Toslink and need a USB solution.  Twisted Pear has a USB module but it is currently out of stock.  What is the best USB -> I2S solution that I can integrate into my BII?

A suppose an alternative is to use something like the Musiland Monitor 02 to do the conversion and leave the BII as is.  Thoughts?

A gamma1 can be built that way. That is how I am using it for my gamma2, strictly as a USB to I2S conversion.

The Buffalo does not accept spdif?

The Buffalo accepts spdif so you can just use any usb->spdif converter. In fact, this may be a better solution than using Twisted Pears USB module (since this is restricted to 24/48).

I would recommend Musiland.
