FS: Shure E2c IEMs w/frayed plug cable, $30, DIY

Everything is in excellent condition except that the cable at the plug has kept fraying on me over the years.  I loved the sound of these so much that I replaced the plug with a gold-plated Radio Shack screw-on plug, and eventually SuperGlued the connections in place.  But after the cable frayed yet again a couple of months ago, I finally gave up and just bought myself some HF5s.  $30+shipping, including everything you see in the picture.  Great for a DIY project.  These sound better than my HF5s, but I got sick of the cable maintenance.

What kind of condition is the cable in at the moment, i.e. could you listen to them right now via a DAP in your pocket as you walk around?

At the moment, the cable has an intermittent connection to the plug, so I wouldn't recommend listening to it as-is.  My suggestion would be to cut the cable, and then either remove the superglue from the plug connections and solder the cable into place, or use a different plug.  Or you could recable the earbuds entirely.
