Macbook to WA6SE

Thread Starter

Hi there,

I am an audio enthusiast looking to get some new gear.  Currently my setup is just my Macbook Pro and my Grado 325s.  I have been doing some research and plan on getting Woo's WA6-SE.  I've also got a pair of Grado PS1000s on the way.  My question is, has anyone gone from a Macbook directly to the WA6-SE?  If so, how is the sound?  Seems like most people I see have another component in between the Macbook and the amp.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Put a DAC, like Pico DAC, in between. Your PC is too noisy and the line out will not gets you the full potential the WA6SE can do.

Thanks for the advise.  Do you know (or have any recommendations on) which DAC would pair well with the WA6SE?  This Pico DAC for example, have you used this combination?

Thanks!

I have used Pico DAC with my maxxed WA6 for almost a year before I upgrade my DAC to PWD. I don't think there is a better USB DAC out there.
