connector and rotary switch recommendations

Thread Starter

Hi,

I am building a parafeed headphone amp... and am going all out on this one. Its a two chassis build

Does anyone have a recommendation for umbillical connectors (B+1, B+2, Heater, heater, big fat ground)

Also, the chap i am building for has an array of headphones so the output Tx are tapped for 600, 300, 32. Does anyone have a recommendation for a rotary switch, or any other switching ideas?

Thanks in advance

Adam.

Rotary switches are an interesting problem. Short version is that you get to pick between having 0 to 1 and having 1 to 2 terminals in-circuit at a given time. Each has its own issues. Say you're using it to select a resistor. When you're transitioning, the corresponding circuit element will either be two resistors in parallel (reducing the combined value) or no resistors. Either will tend to be problematic if you don't design for it - you can't just assume it's a discrete case stack corresponding to the individual values.
