Ipod to receiver to headphones (grado sr225i)

Hi,

I wanted to know if there is a difference in sound if I plug my 225's directly into the ipod or plugging them in through the stereo.

I don't own a 1/4 to 1/8 plug so I have to plug my 225's directly into the stereo and then using an audio aux cable to plug into my ipod from the stereo.

If the sound is the same I will buy a 1/4 to 1/8 plug because then I'm not just stuck in one spot.

However if the sound is better through the stereo, then I'll just stick with what I have now because I don't use the grado's outside anyways.

Thanks!

You may want to mention what stereo you have, it's hard to tell you if it will sound as good through the ipod when we don't know what stereo are you using.

is stereo = speaker amp? I'm surprise that's even possible to plug an iPod to an amp.

adapters are not expensive; you never know when you may need one. miniplugs

I'm sorry everybody I meant to say Receiver not stereo.

I have a Yamaha Natural Sound RX-V795.

I plug my ipod or laptop into the receiver with an RCA cable and then the headphones into the receiver.

But I think I am going to buy a udac and then a little dot +1 for the laptop.

I am hoping it will sound better then through the receiver.

Sorry for all the confusion.
