Virgin IEM recable part list and questions

Hi everyone-

First time recabler here, unfortunately my target is not particularly forgiving, a pair of Shure e2c IEMs (short in the cable).  I've been doing a bunch of googling and surfing and thus far have decided on the following parts:

-Switchcraft 35HDRABAU (http://www.redco.com/shopexd.asp?id=770)

-Mogami W2534 (http://www.redco.com/shopexd.asp?id=504)

I also have a few of questions:

-If I pull the wire out of the jacket and braid it together, then twist the segments going to the ears, is that sufficient protection from microphonics?  I use these for going to the gym, occasional jogging.  If not, what do I need to do?

-What braid should I use for the quad wire section?

-What is the best way to twist the cables after the Y section?  Do I need a tool? How do you keep them from untwisting over time?

-At the Y, is it sufficient to heatshrink over each of the pair, then some over both pair?  I'd like to keep weight down so its not tugging on my ears.

-Any suggestions on heatshrink?  If I am only using it at junctions, does it matter what is used?  Also, 1/8" for the 1 pair, 1/4" for 2 pair?

-I've seen IEM recables using some kind of clear tubing used for the over the ear section, is this useful?  Where can I get it?

-With the switchcraft plug I'm using, do I need to do any kind of strain relief other than hooking the wire into the cable?  A pointer or tip on what to do would be great.

Thanks so much in advance!
