The Null Lune compared with the Whiplash TWAG - is there much difference? I'll be using one of...

Hi guys

 

Spudharris was kind enough to throw in a Null Lune cable in my purchase of his JH13 Pros. Weirdly, his ear canals are similarly shaped to mine, and with some jiggery pokery, I get a seal. Amazing really. I'm gonna have them remoulded, but I'm listening to them for fun, and with the Lune cable, they're incredibly clear and bright - tremendous fun for pretty much every genre of music I've tried them with. (I'm listening to The Orb just now and hearing details I'd never heard before).

 

So - to the question. The Lune seems really pretty good - it's silver and multi-fibre... so is it as good as the TWAG? And if not, what's the key difference? Anyone got experience of trying both?

The difference is how emotionally you are attached to each cable.

The situation is that the Lune is either regular silver in teflon or silver-plated copper, stranded, in teflon - while TWag is cryo treated OCC stranded silver in polyethylene insulation.

(Sorry for being stupid here...) does that difference mean that plugging in the TWAG makes my earphones sound significantly nicer than with the Lune?

In theory, OCC silver is the highest grade of silver, in terms of purity and absence of molecular junctions.  However, you are comparing a $50-100 IEM cable to a $300-400 IEM cable.  For their price bracket and what they offer, both seem to be a fine value.
