Itunes plays back gapless perfectly. IPod Classic does not?

I rip all my albums in EAC and encode with Lame b320 (latest version) However, there are a few albums that have a small tick or click between tracks when played on my IPod classic but play perfectly in itunes and the transition between the tracks are perfect. Is this something to do with the Classic having a "hard drive" and not a flash drive? Would an Ipod touch with it's flash drive do a better job of gapless playback?

I have no such problem on my classic.  Maybe you could try using the "gapless" option?  I've never tried it myself and get gapless playback anyway.  You could also try defragmenting your ipod, I don't know.

I've found that sometimes, you have to enable the gapless option, but I've had no problems. I'm on an iPod touch and nano 3G

It's not on all albums, most gapless albums playback perfectly.There is one album in particular that while it plays flawlessly in Itune on the classic there is a click at the transition of the 1st and 2nd tracks.

I wonder if an IPod touch would do a better job of gapless playback?

 

I should upload the tracks for someone to try, to see if they get the same problem.

That would be problematic legally, of course, not to mention pragmatically. I've had no trouble with my iPod touch and the iPod nano 3G seems to do everything almost as well though I don't listen to it very often anymore.
