I just got a pair from this guy http://shop.ebay.com/flysky501/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p3686

Do you think these are fake from the pic? If I knew he has more than one pair, I would probly think twice before buying. My pair of headphones are on the way, it will probly arrive on Monday or Tuesday. I will update with pics if possible.

The seller has only bought six items off EBay and most for only a few dollars, total less then $50.

So he may have spent a few dollars and bought a few items as a buyer just to make him look legit.

Now he is selling stuff for hundreds of dollars. I would not buy from this guy.

Then they must be 6 month old boxes that haven't been sold yet.... I meant online orders.

Those are fake.

First indication is 6 reviews only.

Secondly, world wide shipping... but only $11 which means it's shipping from china.

3rd, the blue boxes stopped selling on the internet 6 months ago.(if he is a new seller, he should have white box in either case)

4th, no indication of warranty

5th, he is not an authorized seller,

6th, he has a 7 day money back (makes no sense because you probably will get it in over 7 days with international shipping)

7th, his ebay name looks like it was thought of by a child lol (lame reason, just brought this up for fun.)

I was planning on buying these form the same seller (asavings) and thought I'd do a little research first and this thread popped up. Have you received yours yet? If so, are you able to confirm their authenticity?

So I got them in today from "asavings" 100% legit from what I know. It has all of the features of the real ones. White box, grooves on the silver ring, "grayish" white writing on the head band, no mirrored image, and the correct sticker is on the inside of the headphones. I was also surprised that the adjustment arms are the silver ones! I heard someone else who's were real from asavings and other places were black ones. Everything came in the box also. Although they need to be burned in. They sound great already for me. Asavings is 100% legit guys, go for it.

I pulled the trigger and bought from this ebay seller:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&hash=item256206e1da&item=160558408154&nma=true&pt=DJ_Gear_Lighting&rt=nc&si=6GohgMVzh0qHNxZCgozUelczXUo%253D#ht_968wt_905

Mainly because of the all-positive reviews, while the other ebay option guy who had more points had dozens of negative feedbacks.

Should be authentic right?

One of the things that I think looks a little suspicious is the fold out paper that came inside the package. Here are some scans of it.

scan0002.tif

What I noticed was that the first language listed was not english.

Well, the bulk of ATH-M50s are made in China like everything else in life. It could very well be the same headphone just packaged for buyers of a different ethnicity.

Then again, maybe not.

Um no. The actual papers that come with the Real M50's come in many languages, and it does not fold over paragraphs and words, rather, it is like a booklet when folded.

So wherever you got that, it's fake.

But then again, maybe there is that 1 small possibility that I'm wrong and they are real. So the best way to know is to actually open up your cans. It won't hurt and it's very easy to put back together so just take a picture of how the inside of the cans look(the driver) and post a picture and we will tell you if it's fake or not.
