I want to verify that mine are authentic...

I got one for about the same amount. Still in doubt about them being genuine or not. But only because of the price! They look, feel and sound real enough to me! If they are fakes they are extremely good fakes.

Exactly this reason that I am so scared of ordering av equipments online. The amount of fakes are shocking. I'm surprised these fake ones from China actually reversed the A logo. When I was in China, I know a lot of the fake ones look 100% identical to the real one, down to the logo. So I wouldn't be shocked if some of the legit looking ones are actually fake.

I got mine (blue box) from Tom Lee Music, a local music store. Quite a bit more than online prices, but at least I know they cant be fakes.

Not doubting the seller or anything, but this thread isn't helping my thoughts.

Anyway, it's a head-fi seller, here is the post for the phones:

They look fine to me, I paid $120 shipped.

Any thoughts?

Hrmm, according to my official Fake-O-Meter those seem legit. The price is high enough and he said they were NIB. It's also a head-fi seller so they probably won't try to rip you off.

Quite sure I was hit with fakes :(

Bought them from the following seller trendygalaxy on eBay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250748473088&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_2313wt_883

As listing states they were supposed to be brand new in box.  The sellers location was US, but item was shipped from Hong Kong :(

-Realised as soon as I got them that packaging wasnt brand new as described in the listing, it was tatty and worn.  The box was not unopened, it had clearly been opened.

-The headphones were also faulty, the left ear shell plays quieter then the right one.

-The sound quality of earphones is S**T!!!!, my ipod earphones sounded better! the general build quality felt bad too

I did some digging and negative feedback & complaints from others who have bought these from his business under a slighty different username

Managed to get my money back, but what a complete waste of time!

I actually went and bought some Creative Fatal1ty headsets for my gaming, and discovered that they have amazing bass! So will be sticking with these and staying away from eBay when it comes to expensive Headphones

It's hard to see from your picture there, but I'm curious, the small metal circle on the outside of each earcup, were they flat and smooth, or did they have ridges in them. If they were smooth, then thats a signal for a fake as well, real ones have ridges on that metal piece.

How big an noticeable are the ridges supposed to be? Because I think I might have gotten bootlegs as well.

Ok, got my camera and the macro function... Here's what the ridges look like up close:

Ok, that's what mine look like.

Most likely I got the real deal, I just found it odd how easy the box was to open. There were no really noticeable sign of wear on the box or headphones, though.

Thanks for posting that picture of the ridges, Youngngray! I think I've been hit by fakes as well but that's not that big of a deal since the sound is up on par with other headsets I can buy over here in the Netherlands for the price I paid for them.

Gonna check my ridges when I get home later today  ^_^

Not sure.. maybe it's just my eyes.. but I can't really see the ridges on my pair.

I bought from here which seems very legit though.

Can anyone confirm?

Got mine from the same seller. They have ridges. If you can't see them, you can feel them with your fingernail.

See these - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rt=nc&nma=true&item=220741779364&si=LW6vVUC%252BJ8oz2UNPLvaN%252B4wXP%252Fg%253D&viewitem=#ht_1207wt_1139

I got 'em, have a few days left to return. Fake or real?

Ridget are there. ATH-M50 lettering is smudging off. It came with an adapter, but definitely not a factory one (not a screw-on), pouch is there. Box looks legit, 'cept is really worn and on the back, lettering isn't clear (looks like really good dot-matrix, if you know what I mean).

Whatcha think?

I think something is very wrong. There should be a screw on adapter and Ive had mine a long while and the lettering is still fine. My box reads perfectly with no blurry dot matrix print. The add you posted doesnt help. How about you post some good photos from several angles.

117.95 on Ebay. "Audio Technica ATHM50S DJ Monitor Headphones Blk NEW" Seller is asavings.com.  24 have been sold. What do you guys think? I bought them earlier today, before knowing a lil more in detail about the fakes  8(  I am thinking about canceling the order. But they won't be there until Monday. I google earthed the place in Brooklyn NY lol! It's built right next to a train track. I'm thinking I should have made better judgment? Idk. I want just want the legit ones. Oh yeah, any clue what the "S" is for after ATHM50?
