Problem with Sennheiser IE 7

I have some Sennheiser IE 7 that I bought last year. Just recently I noticed that there is some static/unclear bass in the audio.

 

Will this go away or is there a way to fix this?

The static might be your cell phone "checking in" with the local tower. Keep your cellphone away and see if that changes anything.

However, if you're getting static and distortion in the bass, there's a fair chance that you're driving the amp into clipping. That's where the headphones or IEMs are asking for more power than the amp can deliver. It usually shows up in the bass because you need the most power to reproduce the low notes. The result of that is sometimes a static-like sound when the amp cuts out. (Trivia: tubes have a "soft" clipping" that isn't as noticeable.)

Anyhow, one solution is to pick up a portable amp. They can provide additional power for the bass notes.
