Mullard M8161's...differences between the variations?

Hey guys,

I recently bought a pair of M8161's on eBay, possibly without doing as much homework as I should. Doing some reading, it seems that most people seem to prefer the "large shield" versions of this tube. However, does anyone have experience with these tubes? I find it hard to believe that there would be much difference at all (if any), but I'm by no means an expert. Anyone care to enlighten me on just what I bought and if they are still indeed a hifi tube?

Thanks!

Dustin

I should note this pertains to the Little Dot MKIII amp.
