Want to do a Shure SRH750 Recable....

Hi, i was wondering if this is possible the cable that came with my 750's  is a coiled cable with 2.5mm and 3.5mm ends.I know there's a straight cable as well but it's really long.  What i want to do is cut the 2.5mm end off and split it and attach another piece of cable on there and put a 3.5mm L jack on there. I would have solder the ends on. Would this be difficult to do? OR has anyone done it? i am alright with the solder iron ( i made my cMoy amp )

if I were you, I'd solder a new cable directly onto the drivers, the removable plugs just make up for a poor contact.
