Burn in question. T1s and 990s.

I've never really "believed" in burn-in.. is it real?

I just got my Decware CSP2+ in the post and was excited to listen to it with my new T1s that I haven't even really listened to yet (was saving them to try with the CSP2).

I did extensive listening to the track "Down In It" by Nine Inch Nails with both headphones and have to say that I like the 990s a lot better right now. The sound is warmer, the bass is more powerful and it sounds like it "should," much more real. With the T1s the bass hits are weak and blurry (not as precise or defined as the 990s). The best way I can describe what is wrong with the sound is "nasally." I am used to the 990s, could the sudden transition make me feel this way alone? (not adapted)

Thanks.

Listened to "Fire Door" by Ani Difranco several times and it DEFINITELY WITHOUT A DOUBT sounds much better on the T1.

Will it always be this way? I wanted to be able to get rid of the 990s but if they're doing much better with certain songs then its probably not the best idea. Will the T1 "warm up" to other genres?
