Pick a seller with good feedback. Since you are new to HeadFi, you should fill out your profile if you expect a seller to trust you.
Good feedback, how can i see that?
*nvm i got it now.
Only 1 positive from user with 7 posts, i dont think i will be willing to take that chance.
Let me be sure u r looking at the right feedback string.
First click on the FORUMS tab at the top of any HeadFi page.
Go 2/3rds of the way down the page to the For Sale / Trade Forum
Choose Buyer/Seller Feedback
Then near the top of the page, choose "Search this Thread"
Enter the name of the person whose feedback you want to see. Then Enter on your keyboard.
Last, pick the string, usually the first entry, for the person for whom you want to see feedback.
Here is an example of what good feedback should look like:
Hi again, (thnx XLR1 on the helping with the feedback thing, i decided to buy a new amp)
I have a though decision to make, maybe you can help me.
I need to choose between the Aqua Audio amp OR Matrix M-stage amp.
Does anyone heard the two of them, and can give me an advice on the better one.

And by the way when i looked at ebay for the matrix-m-stage i saw ppl writing that they sell latest/ver2 amp, it is confusing, is it a really other version of the recommended amp?

thnx
help me please. I have an other option too: Millet Minimax
I run the D7000 perfectly out of the Black Cube amp - the Matrix is based on this amp. The Matrix costs $250 the BCL about $1000. Might want to investigate the Schiit Asgard as well - $250 new, Class A and US made.
Thnx for replay.
What is the "Black Cube amp", i didnt find info on it.
The Schiit Asgard looks really nice, ill look for more info about it.
BCL???
sorry for ignorance. ![]()
BLC == lehmann black cube linear
Difference between BCL and Matrix M-Stage is in components. Matrix uses usual metal-film resistors while BCL uses Vishay Dale. Another difference is in capacitors. Not in the big ones by Nichicon (or Vishay) but between capacitors in signal line. Matrix uses WIMA 5% MKS, while BCL has combination, I think even a polystyrene caps which are far better for signal (more transparent).
But all that mentioned before can be easly changed. Only thing that you cannot change is that BCL has separated ground.
In the BCL one ground is connected directly from center tap of transformer with ground of main capacitors (in power line) and regulators. Second ground is separated with resistor and ceramic cap, and connected on center tap (and also connected with ground of regulators). In Matrix M Stage those two grounds are connected together, and THEN SEPARATED from center tap of transformer. Which means also that parasitic current from bulk caps (those with 4700uF) will flow through entire circuit especially through signal one. In real world difference is not big because when you connect load (headphones), things are going worse (because only one transformer wich feeds output and signal stage). So parasitic current of 0,1-0,5 mA is the smallest problem in this story.
Also in the real world you can replace WIMAs around opamp with Vishay ERO (good alternative to WIMA, slightly refined = with more magic) or even polystyrene, which would give you crisp high tones. Also you can replace stock caps (those 470uF on output stage) with ELNA Cerafine or Panasonic Pureism PXL to get excellent low (bass) and recouple them with WIMA FKS, then replace two stock elco caps around opamp with Nichicon (for example 100uF MUSE) for marvelous mids. At the end you can finally replace input caps (WIMA 0,022uF) with polystyrene. With OPA627 or OPA825 or even OPA797, instead of stock OPA2134 you will have best bang for the buck.
Honestly, I don't know how good will be combination described above on Denon D7000, but on AKG 701 this really kicks ass. And AKG is very picky about amps, especially because painful highs, and weak bass on most amps (right now I listen to "Hans Zimmer - 503", and bass is "everything" but not weak
)...
