Disclaimer:

I have a few items I am selling for a very good friend of mine.  I have personally listened to each item and made sure it worked properly and is in the condition stated.

Selling Price: $200 plus shipping and Paypal fees (if used).

The Home Headroom:

This is an excellent sound amplifier that was sold by Headroom around 1999.  It is an excellent match for Sennheiser HD600/650 headphones and the quality of sound you are getting at this price point is unmatched.  Unit has a few scratches (please see the pictures).

This unit also has crossfeed functionality as well along with general preamp capabilities.  This WAS a Stereophile recommended product.

x1 RCA in, x1 RCA out, and x2 headphone out (1/4".)

The amp is solid and has heft to it...it has excellent build quality!

Let me know what you would like to know.  I'll do the best to answer any questions or ask my buddy if I don't know the answer.

shaizada may know more details, but I can tell you the image processor is Headroom's crossfeed module. You can read about it on their website.

As far as I can tell, the Home was their $600 top-of-the-line model, until they introduced the Max in 1997. It's a big, heavy, powerful amp, and I imagine it can drive anything, as long as it is still working well. I've only used a Max and a Cosmic from this Headroom era, so my opinion on the Home is no more than an educated guess. Both the Max and the Cosmic are still seriously good amps, one a step above, one a step below the Home.

yhong26, I'll send you a pdf manual of the next iteration of the Home (they added a gain switch, and another pair of inputs, but otherwise is pretty much the same). Unfortunately there are no specs listed.

Barbarous, you are too kind.  Thanks for providing those details smily_headphones1.gif

It works perfectly fine and sounds great.  It has absolutely no problems driving any headphones I threw at it....Sennheiser HD600/650, Audio Technica W1000, IEMs etc.

Sound is actually stunningly good.

The Audio Image Processor is basically a crossfeed functionality.  It allows for a more natural listening experience as it takes a little sound from the left and puts it into the right and vice versa.  It is more akin to a speaker listening experience.  Both ears hear both speakers unlike normal headphone listening where each ear gets only left or right information.

Thanks!
