im about to order 100 ft of speaker cable i wonder will 12 awg be too big? length to speaker will be around 15-20 ft in one room and the other about 12 -15?

right now i have old 16 awg, and the other just cheap zip chord, i have a lot of zip chord so i was also thinking about making a better cable out of what i already got.

any suggestions

thanks

For longer runs, 12 AWG is better than 14. Belden Brilliance in 12/2 or 14/4 (11 AWG per terminal) would be good choices.

Stranded copper is very flexible even at large gauges. I wouldn't worry about flexibility. Heavy insulation will have more of an impact than the wire gauge will.

Why don't you talk with one of the service reps and buy a foot of each, then you can compare them side by side and decide.
