Is this still reputedly the M^3?

This is including the cost of getting it built, not DIY by the way.

The CK2III should also be considered.  The M3 and CK2III are both very similar, with each one displaying certain strengths.

M3 or M-Stage.

You could possibly get a dynamid for that price

I'd be pretty ecstatic if I found a Dynamid for that price, which is to say I've never seen one go for that low. $1000ish seems more the norm, although I wasn't in the hobby when that amp came into fruition. CKKIII is quite a bit cheaper than M3, and ime, they're nothing alike. Most people say the M3 is a bit better; some say otherwise.

I'd personally try to score a nice Dynalo if possible.

Dynalo or M3 (M^3) for a warmer sound?

People generally seem to say M3, but I've never compared 2 similarly-configured amps myself. M3s can vary quite a bit, between opamp and psu choices... hell, one can even get bass boost. Dynalos vary too; the Headamp versions supposedly depart significantly from the original design.

In summation: sorry, I don't know. :)
