Got it from Amazon with Monster Copper, which is in red color with 8gb.  The built quality of E354 is good, and its screen is covered with a crystal clear front shell.

The control is very smooth, UI is improved, using the same UI for the album search as A845 series. Album picture now is bigger than before.  50 hours long battery is not bad, I’ve played it a day and it’s still indicated full battery.

Sony put all the A series sound effects into E354 ( DSEE, Clear Bass, Clear Stereo, VPT), only without the S-Master.  The SQ of E354 is quite closed to A726 series, but with warmer and front mids.  It’s soundstage is wider than A726.  Bass quantity is about the same, but A726 has firmer bass and rebounce is also better than E354.

The new Karaoke function is fun, and you can sing with the lyrics. The SenseMe function I found it so great after several use…Which is much better than shuffle. Sony finally brings the Bookmark function back to E354.  There are 5 bookmarks for you to add songs whenever you want.

Overall, a lots of new things and improvements I can found from the new E354…The SQ is far better than the old so called “budget” E series.

How is the HO power compared to the S or A series Walkman?  I think a while back I saw the power specs on it and it was the same for this series and all the other series.  Perhaps just the S Master adds a bit of oomph.

Looks great though.  Thanks for the impressions.

Hi

I've been using A726 for about an year now & have recently bought E434

Both of them feature same 5+5mw amp.

BUT! they sound very different. E434 is cold/sharp and sounds like a nano4g while A726 is quite warm/smooth with blunt edges.

E434 is the most detailed of all players i've heard including sansa clipv2, touch3g, classic7g. A726 is also detailed but looses heavily on transparency.

E434 has a very tight & punchy bass that has way more impact than A726.

Also E434 is quite louder than A726. What A726 does good is with SUPERB imaging & great depth/width in soundstage & not to mention the absolutely gorgeous mids that have unmatched scale, emotion & are super detailed.

It's really strange to see 2 different versions of the same amp. I really wonder how sony managed to do this.
