DAC/Receiver solution for a beginner audiophile!

I am Alex. I like audio gear. I also lack funds. Let me explain...

I want a DAC for my current and future headphones. I also plan on getting some bookshelf speakers (Paradigm Atoms maybe). So I was wondering if there is a solution that will take care of both of these issues...

My primary source will be my PC.  Is is possible to kill these two birds with one stone?

So it will be PC>source>headphones or speakers

I do have a budget unfortunately, around $300 or less for said device.

For 200$ you could buy the Maverick Audio D1. The D1 is a desktop DAC/amp combo that has many versatile inputs such as usb and coaxial input. It would probably be powerful enough for both headphones and some bookshelf speakers. I have not used it personally but I would take a look; it seems to have pretty good reviews.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have since moved my priorities solely to headphones, thanks though.
