everytime i start a listening session i plug the headphones to my amp ,turning all the gear on except the amp (cd transport ,dac) and than turn on the amp. I remember that i once read that the safer and best way to turn on the amp is when it is closed circle,so i turn on the amp last when everything is plugged in ofcourse.
first of all...is it ok?
and second..i was told by my amp manufacturer that i should turn off the amp before unplugging and plugging another headphones to it just in case to avoid shorting the circut and damaging the amp. so let's say that i am now listening with a certain headphone for 5 hours and the gear is already heaten up and working...is it safe to turn off only the amp, plug in another headphone and turn it back on again? when all the other gear is stayed turned on?
maybe i should wait a little bit until it is cooled before turn it on again?
what is your method of switching multiple headphones in the same listening session?
